VIPER SOLUTION
It was recommended that Enshore use the Viper Mid Wire Rope Lubricator along with a spooler and drum to apply the correct umbilical MBR EAL approved grease and displace/remove any old grease and dirt from the umbilical armour.
APPLICATION
Armoured umbilicals
During a recent pre-mobilisation maintenance campaign for the T3200 trencher, 62.4mm & 45mm armoured umbilicals were inspected and lubricated. By using a spooler and drum with the correct umbilical MBR, EAL approved grease was applied at pressure through the Viper Mid Wire Rope Lubricator to penetrate and displace any old grease and dirt from the umbilical armour.
RESULTS
The old grease deposits were simply removed prior to the umbilical entering the Viper Mid collar where it was then efficiently lubricated ready for its’ next deployment offshore.
