A&S International undertakes to supply only safety equipment that fully complies with the standards and regulations and claims made relating to those products. Where appropriate, we will maintain up to date technical files and associated documentation to ensure that regulatory compliance information can be supplied upon request.

 

Where products are sourced from external organisations which hold technical files relating to the products being offered, A&S International will request confirmation that these files are current, complete, contain appropriate conformity assessment information and, where relevant, regulatory compliance certificates and will take all necessary steps to confirm the validity of the compliance documentation held by that external supplier in respect of the products being sourced.

Green Award is a voluntary quality assessment certification scheme that inspects and certifies ships.

 

A Green Award certificate, which can be obtained by ships that go above and beyond the industry standards in terms of safety, quality and environmental performance, acts as a quality mark and brings benefits to its holders.

 

Its Mission is to identify, recognize and motivate for environmentally responsible shipping through operating a non-profit certification scheme that assesses the safety and environmental performance using criteria in the following areas:

  • Ship lay-out and equipment
  • Quality of the organisation/management
  • Human factor
  • Continuous improvement

 

Green Award incentive providers such as ourselves are ports, shipping organisations & maritime service/products suppliers that want to support and enhance the environmental and safety performance of ships and to promote the highest quality standards. They are socially responsible organisations that invest in the future of the planet & offer various financial and non-financial incentives to Green Award certified ships.

We are proud to be an incentive provider for the Thames Green Scheme rewarding operators for improving their environmental performance through the use of some of our sustainable solutions such as Oil Spill Eater II, SulNOxEco Diesel Conditioner or the Viper Wire Rope Lubricator.

 

Operators will benefit from a 5% discount on these three product ranges – we look forward to working with you.

 

The Thames Green Scheme aims to demonstrate the environmental benefits of Thames operations; and to recognise the early adopters of new technologies and/or fuels that will reduce emissions to air. It can also be used a as tool to support the inland waterways operators community achieve the goals set out in:

 

• The updated Air Quality Strategy (AQS) for the tidal Thames 2020
• Clean Maritime Plan published by Department for Transport in 2019
• The UK government’s Net Zero by 2050 commitment

The UK Lubricants Association (UKLA) was formed in 2005 by a merger between BLF, the long standing UK Lubricants Industry Trade Association and the UK Delegation to UEIL – the European Lubricants Industry Organisation for the sector. UKLA is now the UK Delegation of UEIL.

 

Acknowledged as the lead body by UK government, UKLA has a pro-active policy – a knowledgeable Secretariat and has a wealth of knowledge and experience on technical & regulatory matters – amongst its members and various working groups. UKLA members are provided with services from three sources: – the UKLA Secretariat, the Board of Directors and the Association’s active volunteers.

 

Representing the majority of the UK lubricants industry, the UKLA is actively engaged with other trade associations, such as UEIL, ORA, UKPIA etc. on matters impacting the industry, through participation in consultation, representation and lobbying to UK and European Government and industry authorities.
In addition to their core representation role, they also provide members with industry networking events & knowledge sharing through training and communications on industry developments and legislation.
The UKLA organisation acts as the voice of the UK lubricants industry & we are proud to be a member.
